 Today we talk about cultural reflections. We got to answer 3 questions as a class and we also got to discuss as a class. One of the questions was r eflect on any stereotypes or biases you may have encountered or internalized, and how they have influenced your perceptions of yourself and others. I answered Latin women are always the home care takers and don’t work traditional jobs. One of my classmates said “All Mexicans like spicy food “ which I think is false because really not ALL mexicans like spicy food.

 Today we got to say something positive about everyone in the class. I think it was nice of us to do that because you never know someone might need the positive comment but I think it was overall a fun activity to do as a class. After that we were able to take it home since it was all on sticky notes. Then we all got to decorate the door, so everyone was helping with that.

Today we talked about America. First we got asked what is it to be American ? I answered to have rights. The second question was, What does America symbolize ?I answered  oppurtunities. We also got to read Let America Be America Again and discussed it as a class.

 Today we had a substitute. We had to go on common lit and do the assignment on Resistance to the Vietnam War. We had to read and then answer some questions. The Vietnam War took place in the Southeast Asian countries of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. It was a very significant and controversial war in history.

 In the beginning of class we talked about Kentaji Brown Jackson.I learned that she was a judge, is the 1st most important in America, and 1st african american woman to serve as a U.S. supreme justice.We then talked about culture , and the respectful and disrespectful things that there is. For example some respectful  things are try the foods,learn about it and respect anything that’s different from yours. For disrespectful things are mocking,mocking their language, and  stereotyping. 

 Today we started class with a bell ringer , starting with Condoleezza Rice. She was the first African American woman to serve at the US Secretary of State. Let’s say the president wouldn’t be there then she’d be the one filling in for him. We also then presented the rest of our projects. Towards the end of class we did 2 activities , one was 10 songs that describe your life and the other one was 10 items that someone would find in your trash.

Today my classmates presented their power points.Before that we talked about black history, specifically Benzel Washington. I didn’t know who he was or heard about him. I learned that he was an African American actor to win “Best actor” since 1963, against white men.Also you would never see him kissing a white female.

 Today we started reading 136 n we were supposed to stop 146. We got into groups of 2’s, then questions on a piece of  paper were passed. I got the question, where could you find more information about this topic ? I put as my answer google and I’d search up about death. For my second question I got, tell  one sentence that would best summarize the first two paragraphs. I answered,”A long permanent sleep.”
